In simple terms, a blog is a place on your web site, where you write stuff on an ongoing basis. New information shows up at the top, so your
visitors can read what's new. Then they comment on it or link to it or email you. Or not.
1. A Reason to Return: With information actually changing daily on your site, it gives readers a reason to return again
and again.
2. Search Engines: Blogs increase your site's popularity in the search engines partly because the text is always changing,
but more because other sites will start to link to your blog. It helps build your link popularity, when you get the blog engines to list
your blog and other people in the "theme" to link to your blog.
3. Build community and collaboration! By allowing site visitors to post “comments” on your blogs or contact
you about a specific thought, you allow users an instant way to interact with you and other readers on your site.
- Announce new promotions for your company (referal programs, new products, current discounts, etc.)
- Talk about what’s new in your industry to position yourself as an expert and resource
- Bring up what’s going with your target audience and taut interesting facts from books or articles on your demographic (women, people
in the mid-west, baby boomers, etc.)women (tout “women” facts from books or articles)
- Promote new products or events with your company
- Mention milestones for key members of your staff (birthdays, fun vacations or promotions) to help visitors connect on a personal level.
You have several options for ensuring that your blogs are always current and up to date:
Option A: Key people from your staff could log-in and add a blog at any time. You would probably want to monitor this
at least every few days to make sure it was being updated frequently
Option B: Ask your staff if they would volunteer to add a short blog once a week and assign days:
Example Schedule:
- Linda = Monday
- Ruben = Tuesday
- Joyce = Wednesday
- Kris = Thursday
- Heather = Friday
Option C: Have Quanta write and get approval for 30-60 days worth of “blogs” – based on what’s
going with your company, industry news, demographic important facts, etc. Quanta will post and maintain your blogs for you daily.
